Data we process

Contact enquiries

When you use the contact form or contact us directly, we process the information you provide. This can include your name, email address, company, role, enquiry topic and message.

We use this information to answer your enquiry, prepare a relevant discussion, take requested steps before entering into a contract and manage any resulting business relationship. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries, depending on the context.

Technical and usage data

When you use the website, our hosting and security providers may process technical data such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referring URL, date and time, browser language and country. This is used to deliver and secure the website, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and understand aggregate website use. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and effective website.

Services used on this website

WordPress.com and Jetpack

The website is hosted on WordPress.com and uses Jetpack services supplied by Automattic. These services provide hosting, content delivery, security, performance monitoring and aggregate site statistics.

Jetpack Stats can process a visitor’s IP address, WordPress.com account details when logged in, user agent, visited and referring URLs, timestamp, browser language and country code. Novatug receives aggregate reports, not an identifiable visitor list. Automattic states that Stats logs containing IP addresses are retained for 28 days. This site is configured to honour a visitor’s Do Not Track browser signal for Jetpack Stats.

More information is available in Automattic’s Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Jetpack privacy information.

YouTube

Video previews are served through the WordPress.com image service. A YouTube player is loaded only after you choose to play a video. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain. Google may then process technical and usage data under its own terms. See the Google Privacy Policy.

External and social-media links

The website links to external websites and Novatug profiles on services including LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. A link does not load a social-media widget. When you follow a link, the external provider processes your visit under its own privacy terms. Novatug is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by a website in your browser. Similar technologies include pixels and scripts that measure page use without necessarily storing a cookie.

  • Required services: WordPress.com and Jetpack may use cookies needed for security, network operation, authenticated sessions and visitor preferences. The exact cookies depend on how you interact with the website.
  • Aggregate statistics: Jetpack Stats uses a script and tracking pixel to count visits and produce aggregate reports. It does not give Novatug an identifiable visitor list.
  • Embedded video: YouTube is contacted only after you choose to play a video. YouTube may then use cookies or similar storage.

Novatug does not currently use Google Analytics or advertising cookies on this website. If non-essential cookie-based analytics or marketing tools are added, they will not be activated until the required information and consent controls are in place.

You can remove or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking required cookies may affect parts of the website. Current information about WordPress.com and Jetpack cookies is available in Automattic’s Cookie Policy.

Sharing and international processing

We share personal data only where needed with service providers that support our website, security, communications and business operations, or where the law requires it. Contact-form submissions are sent to Novatug by email and are not published.

Some providers, including Automattic and Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, such transfers must be covered by an applicable adequacy decision or other safeguards recognised under data-protection law.

Retention and security

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, any resulting business relationship, and applicable legal, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements. Contact enquiries that do not lead to an ongoing relationship are removed when they are no longer reasonably needed. Provider logs are kept according to the relevant provider’s retention schedule.

We use appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect personal data. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Send a request to info@novatug.nl. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. We will respond without undue delay and in principle within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Automated decisions and children

Novatug does not use website data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The website and its contact form are intended for business and professional audiences, not children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, our services or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
